Part 2 of 4:
HEALING IS FOUND AT THE FEET OF JESUS
“Then they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.” Luke 8:35
Our scripture reading today is just a small portion of this amazing story of the complete miraculous healing of “The demoniac of Gadara”, that endearing hero of the faith that found refuge from torment and insanity at the feet of Jesus. For years, and we are not told in scripture how many, the entire town had counted this man as a lunatic and written him off as a useless human being, totally worthless to society, a danger to himself and perhaps others, before that fateful encounter with the King of Kings. In this encounter, Jesus Christ speaks deliverance into the life of this man, casting out the demons into an herd of swine. Our story takes up with this man clothed and in his right mind, sitting at the feet of Jesus. He was willing to follow Jesus anywhere, as he should be, yet his profound healing was to be a testimony throughout the land of the Gadarenes. So he remained behind as the testimony to the power of God to heal and deliver.
It was only at the feet of Jesus that this young man received his calling to reach his city for Jesus Christ.
“Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.” Matthew 15:30
